Since 1986, P & S Surgical Hospital has served the residents of Northeast Louisiana and the surrounding area by using the latest technology to provide specialty care of the highest quality. P & S Surgical Hospital, originally P & S Surgery Center, is a cost-effective, multi-specialty hospital specializing in delivering expert care in a safe setting for both inpatients and outpatients. Our staff is dedicated to providing a friendly, patient-focused environment for patients and their loved ones. We understand that our patients and their families—as well as our specialists —have busy schedules, so every effort is made to avoid unnecessary delays while still providing the best surgical care possible.
Located across the street from St. Francis Medical Center, P & S Surgical Hospital occupies the first floor of the James R. Wolff Physicians and Surgeons Medical Complex. Surgical cases and pain management procedures are conducted in our five operating rooms on the first floor, while other services such as pre-operative preparation and testing, urodynamics testing, and Shots for Tots immunizations are carried out in the comfort of the Pre-Op Clinic located on the second floor.
Cardiac and peripheral vascular catheterizations are performed in our state-of-the-art Cath Lab and Suite which are also located on the second floor of the medical complex. Because P & S Surgical Hospital is connected to St. Francis Medical Center by a walkway at the second-floor level, our patients have the benefit of access to additional services from our partner hospital, should the need arise.
We have recently expanded the number of patient rooms from 10 to 22. Besides the 10 on the first floor, we have added a 12-bed, in-patient wing on the third floor with private baths and comfortable family sleeping chairs.
The advanced training and extensive experience of our nursing staff as well as our low nurse-to-patient ratio allow us to provide exceptional care for both surgical and cardiovascular patients – our high patient satisfaction scores attest to that.
